This easy simple syrup recipe is perfect for spring and summer time cocktails and mocktails. And with just 4 simple ingredients, it’s ready in about 10 minutes!
Why You Should Make Strawberry Vanilla Simple Syrup
Strawberries have always been one of my favorite summer fruits, but I can only have so many strawberry shortcakes and fruit salads. Also, imho, having strawberry in drinks is wildly underrated (and not used enough!). Because natural strawberry mixes and beverages can be so hard to find, I decided to make my own (plus I like knowing exactly what’s in it) and hence, Strawberry Vanilla Simple Syrup was born. This syrup has a delicious delicate flavor that is PERF for light refreshing cocktails and mocktails (hello, italian sodas). With just 4 simple ingredients and 15 minutes, you too can take your spring and summer drink game to the next level.
Strawberry Vanilla Simple Syrup Ingredients
- Fresh strawberries (cleaned and quartered)
- Vanilla extract
- Sugar
- Water
How To Make Strawberry Vanilla Simple Syrup
- Combine ingredients. In a medium-sized sauce pan, place 2 cups of fresh strawberries, cleaned and quartered, 2 cups of sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract and 2 cups of water. Stir to combine thoroughly.
- Boil ingredients. Turn stove on to medium-high heat and allow mixture to come to a boil. Allow to boil for 10-15 minutes or until liquid has become a deep pink.
- Strain. Once thoroughly cooked, place a mesh strainer over a medium to large-sized heat-proof bowl and pour syrup and strawberries into the strainer. Allow syrup to cool until it reaches slightly higher than room temperature before transferring to a glass bottle and keeping in your refrigerator until ready for use.
